Reflections on Aspen AI Data Summit

We recently hosted our inaugural Aspen Data Summit, aimed at enhancing AI utilization in our business through collaboration with external technology companies. 

Jonny Atkinson, Group Chief Business Development Officer, reflected on the summit: 

It’s clear that technology has advanced tremendously over the past two decades and is constantly evolving. As a leading Specialty (re)insurance business creativity is in the Aspen DNA and developing solutions that meet our clients’ ever-changing needs in a complex risk landscape is what we do. 

At Aspen, we’ve solidly established our business’s foundations, giving us the chance to innovate, discover new methods, and continue propelling our business forward. There’s been significant progress; a vast amount of work has been accomplished in the data realm, and the recent establishment of Aspen Data Labs marks an incredibly exciting period for us. 

We’re wholeheartedly adopting the Aspen spirit of innovation, partnering with elite specialist companies to enhance and amplify our impact, improving services for our brokers and clients. The AI Data Summit was an ideal launchpad for integrating this initiative into our operations. 

During the summit’s three days, Aspen judges convened to evaluate the results of the collaborative efforts between Aspen experts and external vendors. The levels of engagement were genuinely inspiring, generating real excitement. 

The summit exemplified our Aspen values in full. We recognize that over time AI will significantly influence the ways in which we operate, and it’s important that we adapt it to ensure our continued success. We covered an impressive scope, leaving us with progressive insights and enthusiasm for the next phase of our journey. 

The contributions from the judges, claims, underwriting, operations, actuarial, IT, and data teams from the development phase to delivery were outstanding. I would like to express my personal thanks to the business development and marketing team, leading the organization of the event.
